In the jewelry and watchmaking industry, the surface quality must fulfil extremely stringent requirements. In this area, too, OTEC has a wealth of experience and supplies virtually all top manufacturers all over the world. The right process combined with the right machine technology enables a surface quality to be achieved which is equal to that of manual polishing. In addition, the process is much more reliable. Whether for cast, stamped or machined workpieces and whether for jewelry or watch parts, OTEC has the right process for grinding and polishing them to a high shine. Most items of jewelry such as creoles, earrings, hollow chains, electroformed items and pendants can be processed in OTEC's disc finishing machines. Exceptions to this are items such as heavy rings (from a weight of about 10 g) bracelets, wedding rings and watch cases. These are finished in drag finishing machines fitted with suitable holders.
